What data we collect and why
When you register to access institution dashboards, we collect the following information:
| Data | Why we collect it | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| First name, last name | To address you in any follow-up communication | Legitimate interest |
| Work email address | To identify you as a sector professional and provide portal access | Legitimate interest |
| Job title | To understand your role in the sector | Legitimate interest |
| Institution | To understand which institutions our users represent | Legitimate interest |
| Department, seniority | To understand how the portal is used across functions and levels | Legitimate interest |
| Marketing consent (tick box) | To send you sector research updates and Blairgowrie advisory news — only if you opt in | Consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)) |
We do not collect payment information or sensitive personal data. If you accept analytics cookies, we also see which pages you visit on this site (see "Cookies and analytics" below); if you decline, we collect nothing beyond the registration form.
Our legitimate interests
Where we rely on legitimate interest, we do so to:
- Understand who is using the portal so we can improve it
- Reach out to sector professionals who may benefit from Blairgowrie's advisory services
- Maintain a record of registered users for security and audit purposes
How we store and protect your data
Registration data is stored in HubSpot (HubSpot Ireland Ltd, an EU-based processor). HubSpot processes data on our behalf under a Data Processing Agreement and stores data in the European Union. No other third parties receive your personal data.
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third party for their own purposes.
How long we keep your data
We retain registration data for two years from the date of registration, unless you request deletion sooner. If you have given marketing consent, we retain your data for as long as you remain subscribed or until you withdraw consent.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Erasure — ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data
- Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Object — object to processing based on legitimate interest
- Withdraw consent — withdraw marketing consent at any time (this does not affect the lawfulness of prior processing)
To exercise any of these rights, email us at david@blairgowriehe.com. We will respond within one calendar month.
Cookies and analytics
Institution dashboards are static HTML files served directly from a CDN. The portal uses HubSpot analytics and Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used, but only after you accept cookies in the consent banner. If you decline, or do not respond to the banner, no analytics cookies are set and no tracking takes place.
If you accept, HubSpot and Google Analytics set cookies that record the pages you visit on this site. If you later register through one of our forms, this HubSpot activity may be linked to your contact record so we can understand which dashboards interest you. Google Analytics data is aggregated and anonymised. You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, which resets the consent banner.
The site also stores two small preferences in your browser's local storage: your cookie consent choice (bghe_cookie_consent) and whether you have already registered for dashboard access (bghe_unlocked). These stay on your device, are not cookies, and are not transmitted to us.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we handle your personal data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. We would, however, appreciate the chance to resolve any concern directly — please contact us first at david@blairgowriehe.com.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Material changes will be communicated to registered users by email where we hold a valid address.
